- Task/Team/Individual – getting the balance right
- Support versus Challenge and getting the climate right – linking your thoughts and attitudes to your behaviours as a leader
- How motives affect behaviours – the need for achievement, affiliation and ability to influence in teams
- The Impact Pyramid – where are you focussing your efforts as a leader to ensure work gets done in line with the strategy
- Leadership Styles and the situations where they can be applied – Ranging from Directive/Tell through Participating/Delegating to Visioning/Coaching. What do these look and sound like in practice?
- Action planning – How can you apply the styles and motives to improve results?

Learning Outcomes |
By the end of this programme you will be able to:- Outline the differences between managing and leading
- Identify where you are currently placing emphasis around tasks, teams and individuals and how you can get balance around these
- Highlight the ways in which you support and challenge others and develop an Achievement Culture
- Describe your personal motives as a leader and their impact on those around you
- Analyse where the percentage of your time is spent between tasks and strategy and identify where you may need to make adjustments
- Identify your preferred Leadership Styles in action and set out a plan to become even more flexible in the way you handle individuals and teams
