Overview |
||||||||
An organisation’s culture has a direct and primary role in determining its safety performance. To reduce the likelihood of all forms of harm, organisation’s need to develop a collective, daily, improvement oriented focus on working safely and effectively carrying out critical risk management and safety management system activities. Leaders must be a regular visible presence paying deliberate attention to all aspects of safety to sample the ‘safety pulse’ of their area of responsibility. Rather than leaping in to solve the problems they discover, they must use this data to reflect upon and improve their safety leadership of their direct reports so that their team is finding and solving safety problems. These workshops have been designed to strengthen safety motivation and leadership skills at all levels of an organisation from directors to front line team members. A key motivational element of these workshops is confronting attendees with the reality of life changing accidents through hearing the story and having the opportunity to talk to someone who is living with the consequences of experiencing one. |
