    Welcome to The BeInspired Project

The BeInspired project has developed information, advice and guidance material that is particularly focused on encouraging greater take-up of Science, Engineering, Technology and Maths (STEM) subjects. As part of the project, Cogent Skills has developed a set of resources with a particular focus on Science.

The following set of lessons and supporting material, are linked to the science curriculum and have regional focus. The lessons are designed to be flexible in terms of delivery to students between the ages of 11 and 16 and include take-home key messages to ensure that parents are also engaged. The lessons can be used independently although lessons 1-5 will provide students with a careers in science journey.

Each lesson contains all the accompanying materials that can be downloaded and printed, including a lesson plan outlining:

    • lesson duration
    • aims for the students
    • skills developed
    • resources required
    • preparation needed
